It's Been Too Long...

1/9/2012

Finally I get to share some stuff with everyone again.  I have been so busy...but that's the way I like it. Mom and Dad have been fussing with talk that I will be 4 soon (Feb.2). Mom seems to think I'll have a magical year this year, but I think last year was really special.

I mean, I don't know how it can get much better than for she and I to win our xtreme distance world championships together and set new distance records. I have to work really hard to catch those throws...(she has a little trouble with Hyzer...I hear my buddy Adrian yell that at her sometimes in a funny German voice.) Anyway, I sure do like the opportunity to run as hard as I can and JUMP really high! It is so much fun! And I love to chomp through those discs...there's just something gratifying about it. Humans clap and cheer when they've done something well. I like to chomp through my disc.

My mom and dad were really excited over New Year's. I had a near perfect day at an agility trial in Davenport, Ia. (I sorta missed one of those yellow patches at the bottom of my A-frame once.) I even got my McDonald's ice cream after that. I need to get busier so I can get more of that. I don't get nearly enough treats around here.

Then I got to do some of my tricks and chase discs at a men's basketball game on Jan.4. It was a big rivalry between KU and KState, and that gym was really loud. But I like it that way, so I had a great time doing what I like to do best. Then there was some commotion about me being on a highlight reel on ESPN sportscenter the next night. People are so good to me...but then I deserve it. I'm kinda like my buddy Tigger in the Pooh stories...I'm the only one of me there is...and that's pretty special. My mom and dad tell me that all the time anyway. They're so crazy about me. Hmmm....wonder if they'll take me to McDonalds for my birthday..or get me some of those toys I like to tear up.

This year has been going by pretty fast!! In spite of the fact that I fell and hurt my back and had to go to the doctor - I have been going to a lot of competitions and agility trials. I won the overall in the UFO event in St Louis - got to swim in the ocean after an event in Houston, and won a Skyhoundz local in Lawrence, KS that I have won for the last three years in a row! But the really cool thing was that I won the first ever Land of Oz Kansas State Disc Dog Championship!!! And got a cool Scarecrow trophy!!! (and lots of ice cream afterwards!!!) I was also on the cover of DogSport magazine and my mom and dad were pretty proud of that. It's getting hot now though - I don't care much for having to compete when it is too hot..... aren't there any winter sports I can do??

Happy New Year!!! 2011

Here I am again! It is a new year Dad says and we have had some changes! My little feline sister's name is Darby. She really loves me and tries to snuggle with me all night - geeeesh. And now I just got a new little K9 sister too. Her name is Killian and she is 4 months old. Dad says she will be part of "Team Towser" but so far she seems pretty inept to me...... But she does steal my toys all the time.

As a yearly wrap up I won the Missouri state championship in Toss and Catch again - but this time it was with my Mom throwing to me!!! Me and Mom's first championship!!! I also won first place at Dogtoberfest in Toss and fetch - and I won the 40 weave pole races. Plus I got first place in the best dog trick contest so that was cool. I got lots of ice cream after that day. It is a new year coming and I think we are going to be traveling a lot - Dad says we need a new vehicle cause it will be too crowded with my new sis along. I would just vote to leave her home, but I guess I am too young to get to vote. (The team IS called TEAM TOWSER however so you would think they should listen to me)

I will post again soon - got an agility trial and indoor disc competition coming up in a few weeks. Peace out - and give your pup a pet for me.

P.S. - here is my new sis

It has been a busy summer!!! Now off to the worlds!

It seems like I have been busy all summer with disc competitions, lots of traveling and some agility too! We got to go to Colorado twice, Indiana, and Arkansas all for disc stuff. I even got to go to my Dad's favorite place, Montana! That was really fun hiking in the mountains and swimming in the clear rivers! I did really well at my frisbee and qualified to go to the world championships in Chattanooga, TN! We are leaving in a couple of days and I am really excited. I get to compete in the Distance and Accuracy and Pairs Freestyle. All the dogs there are really good and many have been champions, and they are traveling from all over the world, so it is an honor just to get invited to go. I also won my first Quadruped with my Dad, and made the finals twice with my Mom this summer. And I won the overall championship at the Kansas City Classic too!!! So it is good to do well in your hometown!!

Unfortunately when my Dad and I were at the park a few weeks ago we found a little kitten. She was only 4 weeks old and had been abandoned like I was - so we took her home. I think she is going to be my sister.... yuck! But, I guess I was glad someone rescued me so.... I will try to post stuff more often, it's just hard cause my Dad gets too busy to help me type it out.

First agility trial!

I have been doing this agility stuff for a year, but never got to go to an actual competition until this weekend! I had a two day trial for NADAC in Lawrence, KS. I had to do 10 runs and the first one I was a little over excited and ran really fast, but then I ran out of the ring to meet some new friends. Apparently this is a big deal to the humans there cause they kept yelling "loose dog"... I looked around but I didn't see any loose dogs, but they were sure they saw one. Anyway, I guess I got eliminated from that round cause you are not supposed to leave the ring. Lots of rules in agility. But then I did really good on the rest of the runs and I got 6 Qs - which means I did it well, and I won 3 first place ribbons and 3 second place ones. Plus I got a big ribbon because I got my first novice agility title! The people beside us told my Mom that you usually don't get a title your first time out so she was really proud of me. And I got ice cream afterwards again.

Long winter, now it's back to work

Not that I haven't been working all winter. As a matter of fact I had lots of training this winter and worked really hard, but Mom and Dad say I now need to get back into "competition shape" - whatever that is. All I know is that I get a little less food in my bowl which I am not too pleased about.

The first of the year saw the official re-launch of the Kansas City Disc Dogs, that my family helped to do, so that is cool that now I have a club to be a part of. My folks have T-shirts and everything!

My first frisbee competition of the year was on April 17th - and my Dad couldn't throw very well cause he has a rotator cuff injury so he claims.... But.... my Mom threw it really far and I went and caught it and we won a 3rd place medal in the women's long distance so that was pretty cool.

Then on May 2nd it was back to Lawrence, KS for a Skyhoundz local championship. This event was my first ever last year and I won so I was trying to defend my title. Fortunately my Dad threw better and I won first place again and got a cool plaque. Best part was I got to see all my buddies and got to get ice cream from the drive through window afterwards.

MO State Championships and Dogtoberfest!

10/26/2009

Well - it has been a busy two weeks. It started out with Dogtoberfest, where there are lots of fun things for us four legged people to do. I was competing in the frisbee competition. It was really fun and at the end I was in a tie for first place with my good buddy Big Biscuit. I missed my sudden death catch and he caught his for the win! But if I have to get second, I at least would want the Biscuit to be first!!!

Show me State Championships. This was on the Purina farms and was a two day event. There were teams from Colorado, Indiana, Kentucky, Alabama, and more. A bunch of reeeaaally good players!! I competed in all the events and in my best event I won first place! So I am now the MO state champion in toss and fetch! That is pretty cool, and my human buddy Adrian Custer gave me a medal and a cool shower attatchment and a neat Purina towel! I also caught throws from my Mom in the novice division and we got second place.

It has been a good couple of weeks for catching flying pieces of plastic!

My own website - finally!

It took my Dad longer then I had hoped to get my site up. But he is pretty busy with other stuff I guess.

I too have had a really busy first 5 months of competing in frisbee contests! I have already been to competitions in Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Colorado, and Indiana. I got to see the St. Louis arch, hike in the Rocky Mountains, see my Grandma and my Sister's family in Iowa, and meet lots of new friends! I've been in 6 contests and have gotten medals in 5 of them. They keep saying I have a lot of "potential". I don't know for what, but I am excited to find out!

I have also already gotten to do demostrations at the KC Wizards soccer game, and for the KC Royals. It's fun to get to run on the big field just like those other athletes.

I will post more when we go on trips - I don't like to travel cause I have to ride in my crate the whole time and can't move around the vehicle. It's all because of that one time I shifted the car into reverse going down the highway. I think that is a bad place to put that shifter thing anyway.

More to come -
